So what’s the story behind “In the Estrogen Zone?” Well, pull up a comfy chair and I’ll fill you in.

I started working for InTroubleZone Productions a couple of weeks ago. I’m in charge of their marketing and PR. InTroubleZone Productions is a cutting edge video/film production company based in both Naples, Florida, and The Big Apple. And let me tell you, and I’m not just saying this because my job depends upon it, these guys produce some very high-end, high-quality videos. They take a lot of pride in everything they produce and it really shows.

These guys are setting their sites on great things, and I know they’re going to make it big someday. I believe it’s just a matter of timing (a little luck and some angel investors wouldn’t hurt either). I just hope I can help them get to their next level of success. That would be a great feeling for me.

Anyway, you don’t have to be in the film industry to know that testosterone is the one dominating factor in the biz. There aren’t many women working in this industry at all (including actors), and I hope that’s going to change really soon. According to the New York Women in Film and Television site, women comprised only 15% of all directors, executive producers, producers, writers, cinematographers, and editors working on the top 250 domestic grossing films in 2007. That’s really sad. Something needs to change.

I’m so glad that the guys at InTroubleZone Productions are open to the idea of letting some desperately-needed estrogen into the mix in this manly office. They accepted me with open arms since my first day, which was super cool. I thought I’d have to cut through a wall of resistance with a machete. But hey, I can tell a dick joke with the best of ‘em.

And since I’m the only source of estrogen in this office right now, I thought it would be amusing to give you an inside peak into my daily hell work day with this bunch of crazy, high-energy dudes.
